The The former ENI village of Borca di Cadore, today Court of the Dolomites, was founded in the early 1950s as the brainchild of Enrico Mattei and takes shape thanks to the architect’s design Edoardo Gellner. Set against a stunning natural backdrop, the complex stands as a prime example of the integration of architecture, landscape and innovation, and has become a landmark in the history of Italian design.
The guided tour will take participants on a journey of discovery through the village’s most iconic sites, recounting their history, values and architectural features:
- The Colony, an imposing social structure that blends seamlessly into the woodland.
- The Church of Our Lady of Cadore, a masterpiece by Edoardo Gellner e Carlo Scarpa.
- The Hotel Boite, an iconic hotel that still retains its original furnishings and design features to this day.
